Breast augmentation is performed to balance a difference the breast-size, improve body contour or as a post-surgery reconstructive technique. Silicone shells filled with saline solution are implanted either directly under the breast tissue or beneath the chest wall muscle, giving breasts a fuller and more natural contour.
The methods for inserting and positioning implants depend on the patient’s anatomy and doctor’s recommendations. Incisions are made in as inconspicuous an area as possible – usually the armpit, around the areola (nipple area), or under the breast itself to minimize visible scarring. Working through these incisions, the doctor lifts the breast tissue and inserts the implant. It is then centered beneath the nipple, either under or above the pectoral muscle.
Breast reduction surgery, technically called ammoplasty, is usually performed for physical relief rather than for cosmetic reasons. This procedure involves removal of excess breast tissue to reshape and lift the breasts.
Benefits of the surgery include increased comfort in your upper back, neck and shoulders; less shoulder pressure from bra straps; increased ability to exercise and participate in physical activities; and a more positive self-image. The surgery may also help you breathe and sleep easier. The surgery results in a high satisfaction rate among women, the surgeon removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the lower part of the breast. The nipple is then moved upwards and the tissues closed to form a smaller breast. The surgery usually takes from two to three hours but can take longer. It is done under general anaesthesia, so you will be asleep through the operation.
Liposuction (Liposuction Surgery also known as Tummy Tuck Surgery) is the process of cosmetic surgery which is used to remove excessive fat from the body through suction.
Liposuction helps to reduce body weight. It is typically used on effective areas. These are oftenly thighs and hips in women and abdomen, waist & back on men.
During this process small, thin, blunt-tipped tubes called cannula are inserted through tiny cuts in the skin. Fat is suctioned out through these tubes. In the recent years, these techniques have been made safer, easier and less painful.
During reproductive life, the vagina contains bacteria and yeasts which form a natural barrier to harmful infection. Oestrogen helps provide the correct environment for these protective organisms.Rhinoplasty (Cosmetic Nasal Surgery) can improve the shape of your nose. In Rhinoplasty one or more of the following procedures are done:
Elevation of depressed nose by adding cartilage, bone or implant.
Removal of hump.
Reduction of bulk of the tip.
Reshaping of nasal bones.
Elevation of the tip of the nose.
Reduction of size of the nostrils.
The incision is usually done from inside the nose & therefore no postoperative scars are visible from outside.
When surgery is performed to improve nasal breathing, the procedure is called septorhinoplasty. The nose should not be turned up, nor the bridge lowered excessively. This concept is in keeping with the goal of reshaping the nose so that the nose is in balance with the other facial structures and has a natural, unoperated appearance. To maximize the appearance of your profile, augmentation of the chin may be recommended. This will depend on the degree of development of your jaw bone.
Rhinoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis under intravenous sedation. You will wear an external splint on the nose for 7 days. During this time, you can resume non-stressful activities like bathing, shampooing and walking. After the splint is removed, the nose will be swollen. Within 2 weeks following surgery, most patients can return to work and resume all activities.
When you reach menopause, it is not uncommon to experience psychological symptoms such as depression, anxiety and mood swings. However, there is no clear evidence that changes in hormone levels are directly responsible for this. What is evidence is that around the time of menopause there are often many other changes going on in one’s life.Dermal fillers are most commonly made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring biodegradable complex sugar found in the human body and mammals. It hydrates the skin and adds volume, contributing to the rejuvenated overall appearance.
These innocuous innovations can miraculously wipe off years from your face within a few minutes. The resultant glow is not only superficial but also rekindles the flame of lost youth leading to a radiant skin, glittering personality & blazing self confidence from within.
It is well known that hair on the back (occidental) region of the head almost never fall off (due to a genetic tendency to remain permanent).
Hair Transplantation is based on the concept that if hair roots taken from the back region are transplanted to the area of baldness, they will, after a short period of effluvium, continue to grow hair in the new site for as long as they would have in their original site. Funicular micro or mini grafts are used to provide the desired density of hair. Since the new transplanted hair is from one’s own body, it will grow naturally with time & one can shampoo, trim or even shave it.
Male pattern baldness is a common type of hair loss and it effects most men at some stage or the other.
Typically, at first the hair begins to recede (thin) from front. At the same time, the hair usually becomes thin on the top of the head. A bald patch gradually develops in the middle of the scalp. The receding front and the bald patch on the top gradually enlarge and join together. A rim of hair is often left around the back and sides of the scalp. In some men, this rim of hair also thins and leaves a completely bald scalp.
Hair Transplantation is an outpatient procedure done under local anaesthesia. Postoperative overnight bandage is used and the patient can go home the same day.
